About This Statistic
Renewable electricity output is electricity generated by renewable power plants divided by total electricity generated by all types of plants. The result describes the generation mix rather than final energy consumption.
Because this is a share, countries with very different system sizes are comparable, but it does not reveal the absolute amount of renewable electricity generated.
Methodology
World Bank indicator EG.ELC.RNEW.ZS from the IEA Energy Statistics Data Browser. Renewable generation is divided by total generation and multiplied by 100. Only non-null 2021 observations mapping to ISO countries are retained; no interpolation or cross-year mixing is used.
